Privacy policy
1. Data collection in public places
For the purpose of analyzing different movements in various locations and circumstances, Sensrad collects radar data and images of diverse public environments, also known as "Public Environment Data." Personal information may unintentionally be included in such data.
1.1 Type of collected data
Sensrad's collection of public environment data includes pictures of recognizable people moving around in the public space where the data collection is conducted, as well as pictures of vehicles with identifiable license plates. Vehicle speed, directions, location, and time can also be included in the collected data.
1.2 Intended purpose
The purpose for Sensrad to collect data in a public environment, including personal data, is to:
Be able to develop and verify perception software to detect, track, trace, and classify objects in relevant scenarios. The targeted applications for the perception software include but are not limited to; on-/off-road vehicle navigation, intelligent traffic systems, security surveillance applications, flying object applications, and naval/marine applications.
For Sensrad, a third party or by Sensrad in partnership with a third partner, being able to conduct scientific research on artificial intelligence in general and/or specifically for perception application development.
1.3 Legitimate interest
In cases where Sensrad has a legitimate interest in processing the personal data for the aforementioned purposes, the processing of the data included in the Public Environment Data will be based on a balance of interests or your implied consent for us to do so in jurisdictions where consent is required as the basis for processing. The public at large as well as the people who can be seen or identified using the Public Environment Data benefit from Sensrad's ability to accomplish the aforementioned goals. It is in the public interest to successfully develop safe, reliable, and secure software for advanced navigation, assistance, and security.
In a public urban environment, pedestrians, bikers, people in cars, cars with license plates, etc., are all common. Sensrad needs to collect information about actual traffic conditions and environments. For the Public Traffic Environment Data to serve its intended goals, it must be genuine and unchangeable. Therefore, without processing personal data, such as obscuring faces or license plates, the desired goal cannot be accomplished.
In order to preserve the integrity of the people who are visible in or identifiable from public environment data, this data is collected in public places where it is appropriate and possibly expected by the people involved. Sensrad has additionally taken steps to restrict access to the Public Environment Data, and it will only send the data to other controllers who will process it for the aforementioned objectives and no other while maintaining the same level of security as Sensrad.
Sensrad only uses the personal information contained in the Public Environment Data for the purposes specifically stated here. Sensrad has no interest in and makes no effort to extract any other personal information or identify the people who are visible in or recognizable from the Public Environment Data.1.4 Vital interest
In order to safeguard the public's vital interests, such as enabling safe navigation, safe driving, security, and safety, Sensrad also processes the personal data included in the Public Environment Data for the aforementioned purposes.
1.5 Time limitations
For the aforementioned goals, the personal information contained in the Public Traffic Environment Data will not be processed for any longer than is required. As a result, Sensrad routinely separates and deletes unnecessary data.
1.6 Third-party data access
Sensrad may give third parties access to data sets that include Public Traffic Environment Data and are utilized for the aforementioned reasons. These third parties will include universities and collaboration partners conducting scientific research and development in AI, whether privately or state-funded, including research institutes and research and development organizations, as well as other software or AI developers that Sensrad collaborates with.
The Public Traffic Environment Data will only be transferred to a third party for uses consistent with Sensrad's previously stated goals for processing personal data. The personal information contained in the Public Traffic Environment Data will be processed by third parties acting as independent data controllers. Such controllers are asked to process personal data with the same degree of security that Sensrad uses.1.7 Personal legal rights
